The Pakistan team has played four Boxing Day Tests so far. The first match was played in 1983 and ended in a draw. In 2009, Australia defeated Pakistan by 9 wickets and in 2009 by 170 runs.
Pakistan last played the Boxing Day Test in 2016 and this match was also named after Australia. Out of the Boxing Day Test matches played continuously since 1980, the host Australian team won 21 and 7 matches were won by the teams of the visiting countries. While 9 Boxing Day Test matches ended in a draw
