PSL 6: Announcing the categories of national players and Pick  Order  



The categories of local cricketers for Pakistan Super League season 6 have been announced.

Fakhar Zaman is in the Platinum category. He  had scored   325 runs in 12 matches and  became the second highest run scorer for Lahore Qalandars in HBLPSL 2020 . His teammates Mohammad Hafeez and PSL 2020's highest wicket-taker Shaheen Shah Afridi are also in the same category.

National cricket team captain Babar Azam, who scored 473 runs in 12 matches and was declared the best player of the recently concluded SL 2020, is in the platinum category at the Karachi Kings along with his teammates Emad Wasim and Mohammad Amir.

Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan is in the platinum category while his teammate Faheem Ashraf has moved to the diamond category for PSL 2021.

Peshavar Zalmi's three players Wahab Riaz, Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik have been placed in the platinum category while fast bowler Hassan Ali has moved to the diamond category.

Multan Sultan captain Shan Masood has entered the diamond from Gold  category after his impressive performances in HBLPSL 2020 and National T20 Cup. His team members  Shahid Afridi and Sohail Tanveer are in the platinum category.



Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfraz Ahmed is in the platinum category while fast bowler Mohammad Hassnain has moved from Gold to Diamond. He was the highest wicket-taker in PSL 2020  for  Quetta Gladiators with 15 wickets .

Pick Order



PSL 6: First pick in the name of Islamabad United

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the first pick order for the drafting of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 season.




The PCB posted on social networking site Twitter that two-time PSL champions Islamabad United would win the first round in the first round.


PCB chief executive Wasim Khan said in a recent interview that the first phase of drafting in PSL 6 is likely to take place in the first week of January next year while interim dates for the sixth season are also expected to be announced.

Wasim Khan had said in his interview that Pakistan could start the sixth season of the Super League from February 20 to March 21, but these are not final dates.

The PCB chief executive added that the PSL franchises were well aware of the decision.

The matches of the sixth season of Pakistan Super League will be played in Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi stadiums.

It is to be noted that due to the recent wave of Corona virus, the final dates of the event have not been announced yet.
